More than ten years ago, Giulia Magaldi made a career switch, leaving her profession as a journalist and community manager in Italy, to becoming an advertising creative.
Today, she works as a Freelance Creative Director in different agencies in Europe, leading teams to create earned media driven creative work for a series of the company’s clients.
Prior Giulia spent two years in Golin working on iconic brands such as McDonald’s, MTN DEW, Ferrara, Neutrogena, among others, and leading creative teams to create earned first ideas. Before that, she was three years at GUT, Miami, where she was a part of the company since its early stages, making headline-driven work for brands such as Popeyes, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, and Tim Hortons, among others. Previously she spent a couple of solid years as an Art Director at Droga5, New York, working with clients such as COACH, Under Armour, Clearasil, the Brady Campaign and One.org, among others.
Giulia’s work has been featured on CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Mashable, Buzzfeed, NBC, ABC, USA Today, The Jimmy Fallon Show, Good Morning America, and SNL, as well as major trade publications, such as Adweek, AdAge, FastCompany, The Drum, Campaign Live, to mention a few.
Her work has been awarded by prestigious festivals such as Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, D&AD, The One Show, New York Festivals, ADDY's, AdAge, Adweek, PR Week, FWA, The Webbys, Young Guns, and Wave Festival, among others.
Other highlights in Giulia’s career include being recognized by Business Insider's 30 Under 30 most creative people in Advertising, teaching Portfolio Classes at Miami Ad School NY, Miami Ad School Punta Cana, Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and The European Institute of Design in Milan (IED), as well as judging award shows such as The One Show, ADC, New York Festivals, AME Festivals, Creativity International, Ad Stars, The ADDYs, and Young Shits.
When not making ads, Giulia can be found dancing Swing.
